Founded in 1991, James Weldon Johnson College Preparatory Middle School is a
unique magnet school for gifted and academically talented students. We offer an
education that prepares middle schoolers for success in a global society through rich
academics, a community full of heart and gratitude, and an appreciation for diversity.

JWJ College Prep is the only middle school in Duval County for kids in search of more rigorous academics. Our students can even earn high school credits at the middle school level, and 85% move on to nationally recognized, high-performing high schools.
Specializing in Gifted Students
JWJ College Prep is the only middle school in Duval County where gifted students are grouped together in core classes, allowing them to move at their desired pace and dive deeper into subject matter.
